Frequently Asked Questions
Why a Body-Based Approach?
Trauma and chronic stress can shape patterns of nervous system activation and how the body responds to the world. Therapeutic yoga works gently with movement, breath, and awareness to support regulation, increase capacity, and help clients feel safer and more connected in their bodies.
Services are complementary and not a replacement for medical or mental health care. Available to clinic clients and the
wider community.
Who is yoga meant for?
Yoga here is open to all, regardless of background, experience, or ability. If traditional yoga classes have felt inaccessible or intimidating, this is a space designed to meet you where you are. Offerings are inclusive and adaptable, with an emphasis on choice, comfort, and respect for individual needs and boundaries.
Do I need prior yoga experience?
No. All offerings are accessible and designed to meet you where you are. Sessions can be adapted for different levels of experience, comfort with movement, and individual needs. Flexibility is not required. All abilities levels are welcome.
What types of practices do you offer?
Offerings include individualized one-on-one yoga sessions, small group sessions, group classes, and sound baths. Some experiences are movement-based, while others focus more on rest and stillness. You’re welcome to choose what feels most supportive for you.
What should I expect in a session or class?
Depending on the offering, sessions may include movement, breathwork, mindfulness, sound, and periods of rest. You’re always encouraged to listen to your body, take breaks, or modify as needed. Choice and pacing are prioritized throughout.
Is this appropriate if I experience stress, anxiety, or overwhelm?
Yes, many people choose these offerings during times of stress, anxiety, or overwhelm. Sessions are guided with care and attention to pacing, allowing you to engage in ways that feel manageable and grounding.
What if I have injuries, limitations, or specific needs?
Sessions can be adapted to support a wide range of needs and abilities. You’re welcome to share anything you’d like me to know ahead of time, and you’re never required to push beyond what feels appropriate for you.
What should I bring?
For movement-based sessions, comfortable clothing is recommended. We offer all props including mats, blankets, blocks and bolsters, bu you’re welcome to bring anything that support your comfort. For sound baths or rest-focused sessions, layers and cozy items are encouraged.
How do I know which offering is right for me?
If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to reach out. I’m happy to help you choose an offering that aligns with your needs, preferences, and intentions.
