Cara Winter, MA
Pre-Licensed Therapist
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University and am working toward full licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
I practiced several years in Spokane, Washington before making the jump to the Twin Cities.
I specialize in supporting teens, families, and women through life’s transitions, with a particular focus on women navigating menopause and the shift into empty nesting.
My approach to therapy is holistic, honoring the connection between mind, body, and spirit. As a therapist specializing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I strive to create a collaborative, compassionate space where clients feel seen and supported as they move toward greater clarity, resilience, and well-being.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I am an accomplished photographer, a competitive bodybuilder, and an avid traveler. These passions continue to fuel my belief that healing and growth can be nurtured through creativity, discipline, and exploration.

I bring over five years of experience in the mental health field, beginning on the administrative side and later working directly with individuals facing addiction for a year.
In my clinical work, I have supported individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and survivors of sexual assault. My training includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Outside of therapy, I am a proud dog mom who loves to travel, spend time with family and friends, enjoy time on the lake, and work on crafts and creative projects. These give me perspective and remind me of the many paths we can take in caring for ourselves and others.

Kabao Yaj
Reiki Master
(Starting Mid-Oct)
My journey with Reiki began as a personal search for balance and peace. Reiki found me when I needed it most. What began as a personal healing practice grew into a calling to help others feel more grounded, balanced, and whole in their daily lives.
I received my Usui Holy Fire III Master Reiki certification from the International Center for Reiki Training in 2020, and have been practicing Reiki for over five years.
As an intuitive practitioner, I create a supportive space for deep relaxation, stress relief, and holistic healing. Alongside Reiki, I offer oracle card readings as a reflective tool, with intuitively guided messages that help clients find clarity, direction, and a greater sense of balance.
I approach each session with honesty, compassion, and understanding, ensuring clients feel safe and supported on their healing journey. Once each reiki session is completed, I offer a soothing light massage, grounding the experience and enhancing overall well-being.
